מזגן נייד United AM2-BMD מתפקד כך שהוא מחזיק את האוויר הקר והחם. הוא משולב בצינור שפולט את החום וכן המים שהתעבו כתוצאה מתהליך זה. מזגן נייד מוריד את הלחות מהאוויר וע"י כך מקרר את החדר. שימוש נכון במזגן נייד הינו מתאים יותר לאזורים לחים (מישור החוף ומרכז הארץ).
מזגן נייד United AM2-BMD הותאם ונבנה לשימוש בתנאים קשים ובמזגי אוויר מתחלפים ומתאים גם לאקלים הארץ-ישראלי. הוא בעל יכולות קירור טובות יותר ממזגנים נייחים. אפשר לשכור מזגן נייד עם יכולת קירור של 3 עד 60 טון. מזגנים אלו מיוצרים הן בטכנולוגיה המבוססת על גז פריאון וטכנולוגיות התאדות. מזגנים הפועלים בטכנולוגית ההתאדות הינם יקרים יותר לקנייה והשכרה מאשר מזגנים הפועלים בטכנולוגיית גז פריאון.
